From the Prelude to a Heartbeat

Yesterday, as I watched our energetic Little Prince dance joyfully around our family room to one of his favorite songs, I could not help but be brought back to the moments exactly 3 years ago...  

We had just found out that I was pregnant and we were desperate to see our precious sweet pea's heartbeat after the devastating miscarriage a few months prior.  

We we went in to the doctor a day before I was 6 weeks pregnant, unsure what we would discover -- we were surprised and blessed with a brand new ultrasound machine that could pick up on images only ever seen a week further along in pregnancy...like: 

This Flicker (Look at the tiny, white, glowing section in the middle)  

The technician was not able to call it a"heartbeat" yet but titled it "the prelude to the heartbeat".  

THAT was all we needed!  It's been a while since I had thought about that moment of incredible elation and joy.  

Now, to witness this precious little boy, now 3 years later after the flicker was first seen by our eyes, is sweeter than ever.
