The Rest of the Walls

 We now have all the exterior walls surrounding our up-and-coming farmhouse!  :)

It's been a while since the last post as progress is a bit slower than we'd like.  We broke all records in October for the amount of rainfall, and as expected, with that came less construction work days, thick mud and lakes of standing water to contend with.

*Sigh*

In an effort to celebrate progress, and squeeze out every ounce of gratitude, (much easier said than done while wet, muddy and living in a 26-foot trailer!), we did get the permits for the barn/garage and the foundation has been poured.  Progress!

We finalized the plans for the front porch and back deck and are submitting these to the county.  The front porch, facing south, is probably the thing I am most excited about seeing come together!  I can't wait to sit on the porch swing while sipping a warm cup of tea and watch the boys play out front (and did I mention facing south?!  Yay for as much sunlight as I can get!)

Next up:  part 1 of the roof tresses should arrive on Friday and we're hoping to be "dried in" with the roof felt by mid to late week next week to begin the window instillation and interior progress.  In 2 1/2 weeks from Friday we should have the finalized roof to be installed (because this will be an extra steep and unusual roof pitch they have to install part 1 then measure and build-to-order THEN install.)
