One of the highlights of Christmas break was taking time to complete a project for our front porch -- after studying Pinterest ideas (LOVE that site!!) , I weathered galvanized metal sheets to go as accent pieces one the top of both the front and back of the house and also on the front porch.
After reading up on several techniques, (it really sounds funny but I do highly recommend for this type of project!), we landed on the application of some pretty acidic toilet bowl cleaner. I "painted" it on sheet by sheet and then let it "weather". It amazed me just how dull and aged it became! I'll post more pics when it is installed on the house.
Here it is as it ages:
Here is the roof on the barn/garage:

Stay Tuned! Next up is siding, carriage doors on barn/garage, front and back decks and exterior paint! :)
