Soaked Foul

It's been a LONG several days. After my sweet husband gave me the beautiful bouquet of roses he got really sick and spent the last few days totally out of commission. He commented to me last night (as he was shivering under a thick quilt) that if he'd have known that I would be "on-duty" with the boys for so long without his help that he would have gotten me 3 dozen roses last week! :) Very sweet thought!

As it has been a really challenging time for me, I am really trying to find things to smile about. This morning was one such moment.

Our 2 year old enjoys playing with the sound machine in our baby's room. (As I have mentioned in the past, our baby is SUCH a light sleeper that this sound machine has been our saving grace when he needs to sleep and the rest of us are making a lot of noise.) Among the many options for sounds on this little miracle box are: birds chirping, a heavy rain storm, thunder, babbling stream, etc.

Mr. T's favorite sound is the bird chirping. I do have to admit, although I'm not a "bird person", when the bird one is on I do feel like we have a little piece of spring in our house, (it's really quite lovely!). To his surprise, he just figured out that he can push a button to make it possible to have 2 sounds at once. He's DELIGHTED!

This morning he turned it to the bird chirping (of course, that one's a given) AND the combo of the pouring rain. He thoughtfully listened to the two sounds coinciding for a moment. Then, looked up and commented. "Mommy, birds all wet!". I think he actually imagined this poor, wet bird outside sitting in the pouring rain! What a great imagination! Very cute!

THAT made me smile and has been carrying me all morning!
