Decking Our Halls

Every year at this time I become increasingly hungry for light.  Short days, winter blues, and low vitamin D levels get me every time!

I'm finding this deep craving for light leads me to search it out more intentionally.

The colorful lights on our Christmas tree, the shiny bulb ornaments brilliantly casting light in all different directions, and the unexpected, breathtaking afternoon sun break -- all captivate me.

It always amazes me to see the stark contrast of the darkest month of the year running parallel with celebrating Jesus' birth -- the LIGHT of the World!

This year was by far my favorite to decorate with the boys!  (Make that 2 out of 3 boys, for obvious reasons!)

Peaceful moment admiring the decorations with Daddy

This year I even took my Christmas decorating a step further to add a bit more light...

I went a *wee* bit crazy with bulbs.

Everywhere.  :)

Think bulbs on tree (A LOT!), bulbs sprinkled on entry table, dining room table, shelf, china hutch (inside and out!)...

I LOVE these polka dotty ones from my sweet mother-in-law!  She gave me a huge pack full of so many cute bulbs, and they really DO cast the beautiful light!

~ May your Christmas Season be filled to the brim with God's radiant presence! ~
