Some special time was carved out this weekend to catch a vision and "tame the land", (our new phrase we've coined for this beast of a project we're on the verge of beginning!), on the farmland we hope to call ours in a few days, Lord willing! :) (I was excited to have my camera along this time and shoot some pics instead of just pics from my phone, to capture this sweet meadow in pure, raw, "blank slate" state.)
Below is the view from our property looking out at the neighboring 100-year old farmhouse. This sweet house has been vacant for a little while and is in need of some love, and yet, the charm and character completely captivates me still. My imagination twirls with visions of sweet summer gatherings out on their porch, stories told on rocking chairs, kids giggling as they tumbled through the waist-high wild grass…
We know that we have many long months ahead of us as we prep the land and then build. This time was helpful to remind us just how much we truly enjoy this special place. We are so thankful for this sweet meadow, we are filled with great delight at the dream of what is to come!
Here are a few trinkets to share from the land of the seemingly endless wild grass, tiny purple wild flowers, bright yellow broomstick bushes galore, wild rhodies, and a grove of madrona trees (one of my favorite trees!):
These graceful and elegant trees seem to dance as they sway together in the breeze.
What a JOY to see them simply being boys!
This is the spot where the house will someday be nestled in!
:) Great change, adventures, memories and fun are yet to come!
