Winds of Change Bring Abundant Blessings

~ "Hem Your Blessings with Faithfulness So They Don't Unravel." ~ Author Unknown ~

Since my last post, our family has had many changes come our way.

To put it simply, God's mighty winds of change are blowing and tossing us abundant blessings in just about every direction!

Hmm...Where to begin??

Several weeks ago we felt as though we stood at a crossroad.  We revisited the decision to make "the big move" to simply our life.  A move to be closer to my sweetheart's work and closer to family (including 3 of the boys' cousins!!).

After spending several years of the 4-hour round trip commute to work, we prayed hard and we felt an answer came through the peace that passes all understanding washing over us.  We strongly believe God was sending this peace for us to move forward!

And move, move, MOVE we did to get our house (of almost a decade) selling-ready in a couple of weeks for potential buyers to parade through.

Short story quick, we were reminded the meaning of grace once again.  Being lavishly gifted what we don't deserve.  And it's just like God to do just that.

God was so, SO gracious to us.  Last Thursday the for-sale-sign was pounded in the yard.  Over the weekend, to our great delight, several tumbled in!   By Sunday evening we had signed a contract on an offer that literally blessed our socks off!

It's very evident to us that it's truly nothing we did or didn't do, this is one of those times you step back and simply say:  WOW.  God, You are truly God and You know how to pull things together in ways we never could on our own!

Another incredible discovery is that the boys' new school is on the same road as my sweetheart's work, you can see their school from his building!  I am also in the process of pursuing an exciting opportunity that would mean re-emergence back to teaching as well, Lord willing!  At the boys' new school!!

We also decided to look for land.  We feel like God cleared the way and lead us to a beautiful 2-acre farmland with a sweet, rolling meadow, (see top picture for an overview of the back end of the land), and enough woods to keep our boys VERY happy making forts, climbing trees and dangling on rope swings!  With great delight, I am happy to report that are under contract for this beautiful meadow!  :)  AND only a few minutes to work/school!

We stand AMAZED at God's grace and direction!

Another exciting aspect is that we are working with a builder to see if we could build our dream farmhouse…our rough sketches are now with the drafters and in a couple of weeks we will know if it will come in under our budget.

SO, in a month, we will be packing up, wrapping up the boys' school here and saying goodbye to the life we have known and adored for the past decade.  And all our boys have ever known.  In exchange for a much simpler life, (when all is said and done!).  One where dreams of a small farm, and land for the boys to be just that, can finally come true.  Where adventures are sure to await us around every corner.

Here's a glimpse into our grove of woods and Sweet Meadow Farm taken from my phone camera:

The wonderful couple next door has an abundance of farm animals and kindly invited the boys to come and love these sweet creatures whenever they would like!  All I have to say is the baby goats are SO precious beyond words!

Here are P and S along the property line feeding the sweet donkeys:

I'll update when we close on our house, land, my job and hear if we'll have a farmhouse  one day to call home.  :)  Stay tuned for design pics as well as our summer plans, Lord willing, of what we can have lovingly termed: "taming the land"!  :)
