Pursuing Passions

Our passions are found at the very core of our heart of hearts...they are often the driver our lives.

As my role has transitioned from single to married and an elementary school teacher to a stay at home mom, I have found myself asking the fundamental question: what are my passions in life? What makes me come alive and cause me to glow from the inside out?

A few nights ago, upon returning from a Bible study group with some of the neighbor gals, my husband commented that I was glowing. I LOVE that description! It caused me to stop and think about why I may have appeared that way to him. For one, I had just had an evening rich with fellowship with other moms with young kids.

Secondly, I was learning more about God from His Word. That is also a beautiful thing!

As I have been creating our Christmas letter this weekend, I have been also been thinking about just how much I LOVE to write. More specifically, how I love to write to moms about God's love, hope, grace and promises for us.

Slowly, today as I started putting pieces together about my passions, I have decided to take action with my passion!

As I mentioned last winter in a blog entry, I also love sun breaks. I find so much beauty and hope in the simplicity of this break in thick dark clouds ...

So, I think I am going to attempt to pull together and write down some thoughts and reflections on sun breaks and how God can use the concept of them to transform our day to day lives -- specifically for wives and moms.

I'm really excited to see where this leads! If nothing else, I am pursuing my passions! :)

Sounds exciting! Good for you. The Hornes are leaving the church. Did you know Renee and Wesley (assistant pastor) and their kids very well? Amazing family.

My name is Paige and I've never met you but randomly, or divinely rather, I came across your blog via my child hood friend Sarah Putzer's face book page. Anyway, your blog looks great and after reading your first post I wanted to tell you about something you might want to check out. It's called She Speaks. Here's the link if your interested.
http://www.shespeaksconference.com/index.htm
It's a conference for women who feel God has called them to Speak, Write or lead Ministry in any way. I went this past summer and it was amazing. You might have heard of Proverbs 31 ministries already, but if not they are the ministry that puts the conference on. Just thought you might be interested.
Nice to meet you via the web and best of luck to you in pursuing your passions.
Sincerely,
Paige
