5th Annual Fall Leaves Trip

Last weekend was once again time for our Family Annual Fall Leaves Trip!  This is always one of the highlights of the year for us.

We've now hit every kind of weather in the 5 years of our fall leaves trip.  

This year started out cool and misty...

By the end of the day we were all a bit more than a wee-bit wet from the increase in rainfall throughout the day...the boys, however, couldn't have been more happy and did not even seem to notice.

As we crossed over the mountains, we began to notice the leaves' colors appeared to be particularly bold and brilliant this year.

I'm not sure if it was the dramatic contrast to the dark skies that served as a backdrop behind the leaves or just one of those special years where each tree seems to stand a little taller almost as though it can sense it's breathtaking beauty captured in each leaf.
