Seems like with each hour that draws closer to next Wednesday's induction there are 10 more things put on the "crucial" to-do list.
And yes, I will admit that some things on the list are really quite petty (getting my hair cut) and others are of utmost importance (getting the baby's car seat and newly-washed cover in a place we won't forget to bring to the hospital).
A good friend is watching my boys this morning so I can do what it is I need to do on my very last Thursday as a mom of 2. I've got an hour and a half left before picking them up and my mind is racing to remember all these to-do's.
As I was getting ready for the rest of the day (field trip to a pumpkin patch and last OB visit) another reminder came to me. Something so crucial that truly should not be forgotten.
On my to-do list I have forgotten to carve out time to pray for the labor and delivery. I'll admit that just as the to-do list seems to be mounting so do my/and my husband's anxieties about the labor and delivery.
Echos of the past haunt me from very a traumatic birth with T which landed him instantly in the NICU to the great deal of blood lost through blood clots in my labor with P which was caused by placenta previa.
The stark reality is that in one labor/delivery we could have lost T, the other we may have lost me.
No matter what this labor and delivery is going to be like, I can and have to cling to what I know. God is good. He has a master plan. This plan often looks very different than my own, and that is ok.
If you feel lead to pray for the baby/me/my dear husband, I covet your prayers for this arrival of our precious and much anticipated baby boy. My desire is to have an "easy", text-book labor and delivery, but ultimately, I simply long for the safety and health of our baby and myself.
Thank you.
I'll keep updates coming....
