At Water's Edge

Ski jacket -- check, Stocking cap -- check, Gloves -- check, Boots -- check...ok, now we're ready for today's beach adventure!

Pacific Northwest style that is...

This is typically the dedicated weekend each year to go visit our beloved tulip fields up north...with the amount of frigid temperatures we've had, no beautiful tulips are up (or even thinking about being up yet).  With that disappointment facing us, we needed a Plan-B.

With this winter flowing right into winter-like spring, we NEEDED a get-away...even if it was just a day trip and a ferry ride away from us.  We were excited that Grandpa J and Uncle J were able to join us on our trip today!

We kicked off the adventure with a treat from an amazing bakery.  The boys had some Easter sweets that looked as yummy as they tasted (according to the boys).

With energy to burn, we headed to the beach to run, play and build a few sandcastles...

Although it was overcast and really on the cool side in the low 40's, (with the windchill making it feel like it was literally freezing!), we all managed to have a great time.

There really is something magical and relaxing about the salt air and the beach!

Ha! I know exactly what you're talking about! It's freezing at the beach! Your little S looks like he's in denial about being somewhere so cold. His eyes are shut so tightly! :)
