What does a "Calm Mom" look like? How does she actually achieve it?? Is this actually even possible with young kids?!
One thing is for certain...I would not be mistaken for her on most days.
My goal in the month of October is to focus on some tangible ways I can be a "Calm Mom" as a gift to my kids, (and for myself). I really do think it is possible -- but only with determination, intentionality and the Lord's wisdom and guidance.
As part of my goal, I've committed myself to getting up early during the week, (before kids wake), simply setting a few moments aside to read the Bible, pray and listen to God. I think it all begins here. Kneeling at the feet of Jesus to be refreshed and renewed each morning, BEFORE the battles begin.
It is here that I can get eternal perspective that I am often lacking in the big and small things that arise throughout the day with a 2 year old and a 4 year old (and daily life).
Who knows, perhaps the ripple effect of a "Calm Mom" will cascade down upon my boys and create "Tranquil Toddlers"! :)
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." ~ Phil. 4:6

Wow, are you and I on the same page! I've been striving for calm in my life too, in all areas and decided to get up every day between 6 and 6:30 to read my devotional and Bible. I did it yesterday and what a difference it made! Hopefully today will be the same.
BTW, I love the picture of you with the boys.
What great pics of you and the boys!!! It sounds like the storm is here instead of the calm. You are so dedicated I know you'll succeed in whatever you put your mind to:)
