Ready

As this day drew near we knew that T was indeed ready. He has been telling people over the past few months, "I've been wanting this!"...and "this" meaning preschool.

Over the past few weeks I have found myself a bit teary as I thought about leaving T and heading home with just one child in tow. The big day arrived today and we headed out bright and early this morning with a new Diego backpack and a warm smile.

The reality hit him as I hugged him and told him I would see him a little later. He did not want me to leave but with the usher of sweet Miss Wendy, they headed over to build a tower with blocks and all fears were instantly forgotten.

Later this morning when it was time to pick T up, he walked out of the gate slowly and quietly then leaped into my arms, (his hug had never felt so good!), and proclaimed all in one sentence that he had missed me and had raisins and cookies for his snack. At that moment I knew that he was going to be just fine...and so was I.

(Here's the only picture I was able to capture this morning at his school before the camera died):

What a sweet boy! Eli isn't going to pre school, but will go to kindergarten next year and every time I think of it I get all emotional.

Yeah! I'm so glad to hear all went well. I'm sure he will love preschool! Luke started 2 days ago and Emma had her first day of all day Kindergarten today... now that was tough!! I try to remind myself that these are all important milestones... as tough as it may be on us moms. :) Can't even imagine when they leave for college... thank goodness we have a lot of these mini-experiences to prepare us! :)
