The boys and I had the honor of joining a couple of my sweet friends and their kids last Thursday for a Valentine's party.
The place mat craft was so cute!
T meticulously chose each sequin and placed it...just...so.
P, really excitedly "poured on the love" with his ingredients.
After craft time, lunch was served. I was in charge of bringing some fruit.
I had been so proud of myself for trying to be organized last week ahead of time. In 3 days time I had 2 birthday parties to attend, 2 Valentine's parties to bring things for, and a Moms group to provide a snack for.
In my rush to check things off my list I should have taken a bit more time to look at the sign for the oranges I chose to bring for the kids. As I pealed the oranges, I found a color most alarming. I had no idea that not all oranges are, well, orange.
Apparently, these little things are called Blood Oranges.
It may have been festive for the kids to look at, but convincing them that these were indeed oranges was another story.
(Not to mention the juice...well, it really does make a bloody looking mess.)
The fellowship of the kids and grown-ups was refreshing and delightful! It was a perfect way to kick off Valentine's Day!
