~ In every season, Life's Garden provides blessings. Along our journey, we are given breathtaking glimpses of heaven, we often just have pause long enough to recognize these glimpses for what they truly are. Welcome to my attempt to bloom where I've been planted -- among the sweet blossoms and tangled thorns. I invite you to come look and see how God lovingly makes roses to bloom.~

"Ultimate Survival Guide" and Progress in the Unseen
Once again, on the theme of grasping a bit at straws, we have made some progress on the home-front. In an effort to keep an accurate account of our homesteading "experience", if we can term this time we willingly are living in a 26-foot trailer and look out at dirt week after week with no change, an "experience"! Yes, I digress. :)
First, I must kick off with this: I LOVE the title of this book that P just bought! Check out the title of this book above! I believe this could just be my theme for the year! "Ultimate Survival Guide"…they just need one made for living in a 26-foot trailer with 3 boys, husband and dog for, yes, an un-known period of time! :)
This week we've actually made some fun and exciting un-seen movement towards the completion of our home. We awkwardly purchased all our new appliances at the "huge and not-to-pass-up" Labor Day Sale! What makes it "awkward" you may ask? Hmm, when at the end of this "rather large purchase", the natural sale's question was posed: "And when can we deliver these to your house"?
HA! "Umm, now THAT is a fantastic question, Sir. That question I myself am also wondering!" "You see, we are not exactly sure WHEN you can deliver (said in a whisper under breath, "to a house that hasn't even begun to have a breaking-ground date"!). They very kindly have offered to store our appliances "until our house is ready receive them"…when it ever happens! :) Yep! A wee bit awkward!
The second event, and just as fun in a different way! We hired an amazing interior designer to help walk us through all the big and little things that help come together to create a cohesive farmhouse! She shares our love for farmhouses and is excited to dig in and help! We meet with the cabinet company the week after next!! This helps everything seem more real! Even if we don't yet know when we'll start building!
That's all for now! As always, be sure to stay tuned! :)
