In Abundance

As life often goes, it seems as though I was given a task once again to put my words into action. Last week I mentioned that I would be trying to receive the rain that was falling down upon me. When I wrote that I did not mean literally, but that's just what this week's lesson was for me!

And rain it has! In abundance!

Gray, cold, dark weather has always taken a toll on me and tends to tug my emotions downward...especially when it's day after day.

Mr. T and have made it a habit to thank the Lord for the weather when we pray over our lunchtime meal. I have LOVED praising the Lord when it's beautiful and sunny. I could go on for a long time when it's warm -- especially when the brilliant sunshine is either pouring down brightly or softly trickeling through our windows while we eat. However, I found myself this week feeling an obligation to also thank the Lord for the rain. After all, I did vow that I would do just that.

So, after several days of rain coming down, he and I came up with the fact that rain makes everything beautifully green...that's a good thing. But, let's be honest, I still was not really passionate about the fact that it keeps our grass green.

BUT! The true, heart-felt praise came this afternoon when we visited our favorite waterfall and were reminded just how the rain had POWERFULLY transformed it from a small stream slipping over the side of a cliff to a pounding and breathtaking WATERFALL! And, let me tell you, that water was falling today! Our bodies shook as we took in the amazing sight. We were drenched from the pounding water spraying off the rocks.

This week my sister sweetly reminded me that there is a season for everything. And right now, we've got an abundance of rain. However, we have a stunning waterfall to remind us that there are also beautiful things that come in every season too, especially the ones harder to endure. Praise God for that!
