It was a glorious day to be outside and enjoy the beautiful fall leaves! We just got back from our 5th annual fall leaves trip.
It's fun to see how every year we can do a little more with the pictures. I feel like we are slowly evolving with our experiences with our young kids.
The first year we were living in Georgia and came back to visit for a long weekend. T was an infant and was in the baby carrier for many pictures. The next year he had a break through with learning how to walk, (and we did not plan accordingly), he was barefoot for many pictures running through a farm, (as I was deep in the "throws" of morning sickness with my pregnancy with P).
The following year we had a 2 year old and another infant and had to make necessary stops for T to run and work out toddler energy while nursing here and there on our trip. Last year both boys were very mobile and ran in opposite directions the whole time.
This year we were actually able to help the boys climb up hillsides to get some fun and unique angles for some family pictures. We also perched the boys on a great root structure from a fallen log -- the boys were DELIGHTED for at this particular photo spot!
We then ushered them to a pumpkin farm where they went on a tractor pull ride and checked out all the pumpkins. (It's amazing what happens to the selection when you wait until the week before the 31st to go to a pumpkin farm. If these funky pumpkins were animals they would FOR SURE be the runts of the litter!)
Our final stop was at one of our favorite towns in the state to eat dinner and do a little window shopping, (and play in a pile of leaves).
The boys did awesome on the long car ride too! Not only that, I was able to spend time with my wonderful in-laws and catching up in the car with my sweet cousin as we drove to and from our trip.
