A Different Type of Slowing Down

Everyone needs to take a step back from the rat race every now and then...I just prefer that to be in the form of vacation (in Hawaii)! This past week has been an incredibly challenging and slow week for me as a mom.

Our 2 year old came down with a bad virus and fever on Monday and maintained it until this morning (5 full days!). Along with that he came down with pink eye. All activities except for taking T to preschool came to a halt.

The relief I felt this morning when he registered at "normal" for the first time since last Sunday was nothing short of being compared to a large boulder being lifted from my back. As I now breathe this giant sigh of relief I also am praising God for getting my little one through this fever and on his way, (Lord willing), to full recovery in the next few days.

We were told by his dr's office to keep him out of public for a while until his body has fully built itself back to a healthy immune system to ward off all possible secondary infections.

As hard as it is to be "stuck" at home, I welcome the lack of rushing and getting ready every morning (except for preschool mornings).

I'll take this as a blessing in disguise and pray for ways I can still get out, on my own, for MUCH needed social time with others. (The ONLY time I was able to get away from the boys Monday through Friday afternoon this past week was for my annual "female exam", and I assure you it was not a fun and fancy free experience! I can do without that kind of hanging out!)

~ Would one of my Blogger friends be willing to guide me through how to get pictures uploaded in the new format? I just switched and am sorry that I did now that I can't find the picture icon anymore.
