I think it's safe to say that our middle son has a knack for unusual injuries.
His 1st trip to the ER at 10 months old for stitches above his eye (from accidentally coliding with the changing table). The next trip to the ER at 14 months old was for a serious sprain from a freak accident going down a slide. Then, when he was 2, he somehow found the only strip of nails (that were tucked away) in my in-law's backyard and punctured his lower leg.
Last week with a strange ear infection that formed blisters on his ear drum, now, a puncture wound in his throat.
Who knew that brushing teeth could be so dangerous?!
Guess he was a bit too enthusiastic with cleaning his molars! After he calmed down, (I thought he was crying from gagging himself, not aware of a puncture wound), he went to bed, only to wake at 10 pm with uncontrolled screaming last night. I thought it may be a bad case of strep causing him not want to swallow.
I quickly called my father-in-law, (it's Murphy's Law that my husband is gone all week), and thankfully, he came to watch T and S while they slept.
Turns out that P poked a hole near his throat...with, yes,... a toothbrush.
We got to bed around 1:30 am last night (and then, uncharactically, S decided to cry hard and needed me from 4:30 to 5 am). P's now on pain killers to help ease the tremendous pain caused from the injury. The doctor mentioned that the meds may cause him to be really tired and even cause a bit of silliness...I'll let you be the judge...
I asked him to smile, these were HIS ideas to pose for the camera...
Thankfully, (with meds), He's REALLY, REALLY Happy Now!
