I Heart Garage Sales

There are few things in this life that light my fire more than consignment sales and garage sales.  Really!  Hunting for deals is my passion!

My dear friend, Shannon, introduced me to consignment sales when we lived in Georgia.  And, alas, we do not have many consignment sales out here in the NW... thankfully, we are not lacking in the garage sale department!

The chair up on top is something I found last weekend...with a FREE sign on it!!!  :)  I've always wanted a chair like this before and never dreamed I would find one free!

I do want to give my dear father-in-law credit for the beauty of it...he repaired the side and put a fresh and lovely face lift on it with paint -- MUCH thanks, Jack Daddy!  I LOVE it!!

Yesterday, after a LONG week, (filled with big highs and lows), my sweet father-in-law came over to watch our boys for a couple of hours and sent me on my merry way.  My father-in-law is amazing beyond words was even willing to stay after finding out that 2 out of 3 boys were sick...one had just thrown up!  He's a HUGE blessing to me in so many ways!

It's funny what I can accomplish when I'm 3 kids lighter!  These were my finds in the pic above.

In 2 short hours I outfitted our baby boy with many clothes for this summer, (not many clothes work from brothers since they are a half a year off in seasons), got T 20 books, found 2 Lego sets (one for older kids and one Duplo), found a Leapster for P and 3 games, a Razor scooter for P, a matching folding chair for S to match T and P's, got 7 DVD's, a ring-toss and 2 games, and several other odds and ends...

One thing I did not count on was finding SO many baby sun hats.  I got a *bit* emotional when I realized that our baby boy won't be able to wear all these adorable sun hats this summer...I know it's really such a silly thing.

Here's one of the outfits I bought S for the summer.  I ended up taking his 7 month pics in the hat before he gets his helmet next Friday.

At the end of a long week, this was a blessing to be able to make our money stretch a long, long way!

For this very reason, I heart garage sales!!
