Like Each Breath

~ No longer is God a stranger, but a friend, a father, One who delights to have us talk to Him and open up the whole of our lives to Him.~ Michael Green

Prayer, like breathing, should be found at our very essence of what we do each moment of every day. Life gets so busy. Things are thrown at us in every direction. How do we remember to pray when we're just trying to make it through each day?

It can be as simple as talking to God while I am doing laundry...as I sort through each of my family member's clothes and think of each of my awesome guys, "thank you, dear Lord, for my awesome husband who works so hard to provide for our family each day...help him today to know just how much he is respected". Or in the shower as I shampoo my hair, just surrendering to the Lord my whole day before me since it's often WAY more than I want to take on alone.

We have a Father in heaven Who is so in love with us and deeply desires for us to slow down and talk with Him. In fact, when we actually do just that, something amazing happens inside us. We are able to have a glimpse into how loved we are! And what's more...we see just how lovely God is. The glory of His presence, my friends, is indescribable!

No matter where we are coming from and how we pray, whether it's on our knees or in the car, what matters most is that we just open up our lives to Him, our Father and friend.
