A Few Updates/Proud Moments

I'm very happy to report that we've had several successful nights with our little one in his new toddler bed! YAY! :)

What's amazing to me is that his transition was a breeze -- with a child that has always enjoyed pushing boundaries!! I'm SO proud of him!

Also, I am excited to report that this same little one is doing MUCH better in several areas of discipline. It appears that the frequent time-outs were not so pleasing to him. He will often make a conscious decision before doing something he knows he's not supposed to. This is great!

Now, this does not mean that we go through our days effortlessly, or even that getting into the car seat is a walk in the park, but I do feel as though ground work has been laid and there appears to be a deeper desire to obey. This seems to be going hand in hand with a stronger level of respect for us as parents.

Something funny that I wanted to remember about this weekend was T learning a new word. Apparently, T has caught on to the word, "easily" and is trying to use it whenever he possibly can. Last night we witnessed him slipping his new special word into almost every sentence in a matter of 10 minutes time before bedtime.

This is not one of those words that always lends itself in general conversation, well, shall I say, "easily". His serious way of saying it nonchillantly was so humorous...I am so thankful that my husband was also with me to enjoy this one!

Lastly, my dear husband and I were able to use some money from savings to further our mission of making our house a home. Last May I began this project in the living room and slowly we've been able to take the house that was just that and make it into something far more meaningful and hopefully more welcoming as well.

So, down came the blinds in the family room and the vertical pull blinds in the kitchen on our slider...

Here are the results:

Your home is just beautiful! And your boys are darling. We really should get together for a play date. Our kids are so close in age, and I have very few friends with boys! Jot me a note on facebook and let me know if there are any dates or times that work for you (and where do you live exactly?) So fun to have reconnected with you after all these years!

One more thing...Lydie climbed out of her crib this morning and fell splat on the floor. We've never had a child do that before. Can you believe the boys never even tried that? I thought of you. She is almost three, so I guess we'll be putting away the crib soon! (We are not going to be using our crib any more until grand children!! :( )

It's amazing how much difference the curtains make! And by the way, I love the colors in your house. I have the same colors in my house, surprise! :)

Sounds like everyone is thriving these days. They look happy in the sunshine.

I've been out of the loop lately, but I'm trying to make the rounds tonight. It's good to catch up just a little! Hope you have a wonderful summer.
