Home Again

It's always wonderful to get away and equally as wonderful to return home again.

We are now home from our trip where we had the chance to enjoy the snow and beauty of the Rocky Mountains for a few days and also spend time with my side of the family as well.

A road trip is not something I would have longed for with our dog, and our 2 and 4 year old boys...through many mountain passes...without our 4x4...in the dead of winter...for 23 hours straight...each way.  However, all things considered, it really went as well as it could have.

Over the next several days I look forward to reliving our highlights from our adventures while away.

I am so thankful we were given an opportunity to have a change of scenery and jump off the non-stop treadmill of everyday life for a couple of weeks.  It turns out it was just what we needed.

In the midst of our time in the mountains, driving from house to house for family gatherings and taking a few hours of the "graveyard shift" during our 23 hour drives there and back, I found some much needed time to process, accept and ask "why questions" as I attempt to move forward through the valley I've been in with our miscarriage.  Not easy but necessary and good.

And now as we are unpacking and once again picking up where we left off, (and jumping back on the treadmill again), I am deeply filled with a renewed sense of God's rich blessings He has lavishly sprinkled upon us.

At home again, and also in God's loving arms, it's a good place to be.

It's always nice to go on trips and spend time with those we love, but there is something said about coming home too!
