I've heard stories about this happening to other parents, I guess now we can also now cross this one off our list.
Somewhere between the long 23-hour car ride and a corn dog "gone wrong" from a 7-11 on our roadtrip, by the time we arrived at my dad and step-mom's condo in the mountains, our 2 year old's stomach was not functioning like it should have been.
As with Murphy's Law, we, however, did not find out about this until we had returned from an excursion at the pool and hot tub. As we were leaving the pool building, (the boys both swaddled tightly in their towels), my husband and I both caught a whiff of something that smelled suspect. Out of curiosity, we even asked our darling P if the pungent odor could possibly be from his swim diaper.
He, being a typical 2 year old, denied everything.
Until...we went to put him into the bathtub and pulled down the swim diaper and swimsuit. "It" was EVERYWHERE! An explosion up, out -- you name it! (And to think I almost did not put a swim diaper on him!)
We then asked him again and he said it all happened in the hot tub.
After managing to get everything cleaned as best as we could, we finally got the boys down for bed and then collapsed ourselves, (after missing a night's sleep from our 23 hour car ride earlier that day).
Then, after a good night's rest as we were thinking more clearly, we began to wonder the next day if there had been damage done to the hot tub.
Upon returning to the hot tub we saw this:
And we will always wonder...(note the brownish tint to the water)!
