Psalm 151

The book of Psalms in the Bible is one of my favorite places to visit and revisit.

Perfectly captured in the midst of these 150 Psalms are songs of deliverance, triumph, joy and praise along with sorrow, heartbreak and extreme despair.  All these verses resonate with my heart -- no matter the circumstances or emotions I find myself facing during the day, there's a psalm to match it.

As I went off to college, my dear sister gave me a beautifully written psalm that she had penned.  She titled it Psalm 151.

Her song to the Lord.

This concept of creating my very own psalm to illustrate the different journeys the Lord has brought me through has lingered with me all these years.

Now, I'd like to share the psalm that comes to my heart.

My Psalm 151

You have walked with me on glorious paths, overflowing with radiance, sprinkled in irresistable sunlight.
And I saw that You are beautiful.

You have guided me through deep valleys carved by tears that flowed from seemingly unending pain and heartbreak.  You cried with me.
And I saw that You are faithful.

You have lifted me up to the highest mountains, brushed away the clouds, allowing vantage points with a breathtaking glimpses and foretastes of eternity.
And I saw You are glorious.

You have carried me through the scorching desert where every difficult step seemed to slip backwards.
And I saw You are strength and hope.

You have skipped with me on velvet sand beside the mighty ocean as the sun kissed the edge of the horizon.  It was here You captivated me and stirred something found only in the very depths of my heart and soul.
And I saw You are breathtaking and passionate.

You have quenched and restored me in the heat like a drop of rain gently tumbling upon a wild flower.  Parched and weary, You tenderly met my every need.
And I saw You are refreshing.

You have died on the cross for me and forgiven me -- though I did not deserve it -- bestowing upon me far more than I could ever hope for, dream up or imagine.
And I saw that You are the very meaning of mercy and grace.

You have longed for me to be Your child.
And I saw that You are love.

Thank You for the journey You have brought me through -- for the mountains and valleys.

You have concealed Your love notes to me throughout Your creation.  As Your love cascades down upon me, and I can't help but praise You.

And I can see that You are my God.

Thank you so very much.

It was so healing and refreshing to work on this, I am so glad you enjoyed it.

God is so good, isn't He?! Even when we don't see it until years later! :)
