Something Beautiful

Yesterday morning during my prayer time I felt like God was nudging me to really pay attention to His still small whispers throughout the day.

Normally, I think I blast right past His whispers and nudges in the midst of our daily business out and about or around the house, but thankfully, He really got my attention yesterday.

(Before I forget about this, and to serve as a reminder in the future when I need this, I would like to record a few "whispers" that were heard.)

As many of you know, our 3 year old is quite the spunky monkey.  P came out of the womb rolling and with his head head high -- both literally.  He has pushed me to the limit so many days...in a nutshell, it's often been REALLY hard to parent P.

In fact, it seems so unusual to have a full day that is "easy" with him that I really do notice when there are days like this.  I can not believe that we are now on Day 5 of him responding to me in first time obedience when asked to do something!

At the end of the day yesterday, as I held P (in his comfy polarbear footed pj's) on my lap and searched high and low for Waldo in the "Where's Waldo" book, I could see so much preciousness in him that I have lost sight of.

Too many hard, frustrating days have clouded my vision of him.  I have not really treasured the fact that his feet can't help but skip when he's excited to go somewhere.  Or the sweet songs in his heart that come bubbling out so often because they just can't be contained.

He is so often a beautiful example of pure joy.

Yesterday I was able to see him through more of an angle of God's perspective of him.  Through God's whisper, it was as though I could hear "come look and see, through hard work, this clay is being molded and shaped into something beautiful".

And really, through God's grace and love, aren't we all?!

What's God trying to whisper to you today?
