Mr. Fix-It

Our New Project!

There's the "drop off" to the right...

New Rail! Well Done!!

Complete With Kid's Handle!

There are so many things I adore about my husband! He is quick to help me with a project the moment I even mention it...especially when it involves using tools -- the bigger the tool needed, the better the project!

It would be fair to say that the Home Depot phrase, "You can build it, we can help" was coined just for him (and my father-in-law)!

Last night I commented that if someone moves the patio chairs during the birthday party on Sunday we'll have to watch out for kids as they go down the stairs...next thing I know (this IS NOT an exaggeration), my husband and father-in-law are headed to the hardware store...for the next 2 1/2 hours! I called him around 10:30 when he had not returned yet and he answered the cell phone by saying that he could not talk at the moment since he was in the midst of figuring out how to get "it all" in the car!!!

He finally did make it home last night by 11 pm. It was too dark to start the project when he came home last night, however, my father-in-law was over bright and early this morning around 8:30 am -- after already renting a "very special tool" on the way over to our house that apparently would be required for this project.

Today I learned that there really is a tool called the hammer drill! Who knew?!

With only one more trip back to the hardware store this morning, the project was complete by noon! I honestly don't know who was more excited, my husband or my father-in-law!

I also am pretty excited now that our kids can go up and down the stairs with ease and safety (with or without the patio chairs there to block the fall).

I love my Mr. FIx-It husband and would not trade him for the world! And, my father-in-law is awesome too!! :)

You are doubly blessed if you have a husband who CAN fix it - and who DOES fix it! I know lots of women whose husbands CAN, therefore they don't want anyone else to - but there is never time nor motivation, and so...

Like I said, you're doubly blessed! :)

Too fun!!! Good job guys. I love the sandbox in the background! I want to come play at your house:)

My mom and I are the fix-its at our house NOT Reggie and my dad...

I hope the party went well!! That's great that all you have to do is mention something and it gets done... that doesn't happen for most people! :) It looks great!

Just stopping by- I love all the pictures. I'll bookmark your site and 'visit' often...

'Handy Husbands' are good to have around- I don't know where I'd be without mine. Glad to see you have one too!
