Wonderfully Uneventful

Today was a great day! There was nothing special or eventful today to make it so wonderful, it just simply was special, on it's own. I just love days like this!

I want to document this since it seems like these kind of days don't happen all the time...

I should back up since the great day actually began last night when my thoughtful husband encouraged me to "take it really easy tomorrow" and not worry about any housework. After all, we'll be pushing through a ton of work Friday and Saturday for our big double birthday party on Sunday. If he had not given me "permission" to relax, I would not have felt so relaxed today and able to really be free to soak up a lot of playtime with the kids.

This morning to start with, the boys and I had great fun playing together. When our baby went down for his morning nap and Mr.T was playing independently in his room I had a few moments to be able to take a phone call and actually talk and catch up with my sister-in-law. It was very refreshing!

The rest of the morning and early afternoon were delightful with the kids (apart from "clingy-ness" from our baby who is pushing through THREE 2-year molars this week -- and he only just turned ONE last week!).

Then the boys went down for a nap and I read for a bit then actually was able to rest myself!! :) It was GREAT!

My toddler who, always and forever only sleeps 1 1/2 hours -- on the dot -- for a nap each afternoon decided to sleep from 1:30-4pm!!! This has NEVER happened before! I actually went in and woke him up after the 4 o'clock mark hit on our clock and he was still sound asleep. I started to worry about him! But, yes, he was just sleeping really soundly!

After I got him up we walked to the neighborhood playground where both boys got to go on slides, run (well, just our older one actually "ran" but the baby did walk everywhere) and play with the other neighborhood kids. The birds were chirping and it was enjoyable to just be outside!

My husband came home a bit later and we all enjoyed a simple spaghetti dinner and ice cream as a family. I then put the baby down to sleep while my husband took Mr. T on an "adventure trip" to the store all for the sake of acquiring a half gallon of milk. He was on cloud 9 since he was going all by himself with daddy!

I hear them back home now and downstairs...He sounds as happy as ever! That makes my heart sing!

What a wonderful and non-eventful day!

I'm so glad you had a relaxing day!! It's always nice to have days like that and just to enjoy the "simpleness" of things. I hope you have them more often. :) Have fun at the parties!!!
