Light in Shining Armor

Daydreams can look different for everyone.

Mine, however, always seem to revolve around one thing.  Although the settings may vary, they all include sunshine.  I am not talking about small rays of sunshine, I am talking full on brilliance -- with no clouds in the sky to block even one drop of it.

I sometimes even allow my daydreams to carry me to a beach in Hawaii while soaking up these glorious rays, but I am really content with the ones that simply include me standing in the sunshine.

A few weeks ago when I found out I was diagnosed with severely low Vitamin D levels, (apparently I hold the record at my dr's office with my count hovering right above zero!), I felt a bit more justified in my constant daydreaming about sunshine.

(In real life I'll even jump for joy over a sunbreak if that means I can catch ANY amount of sunshine.)

Here in the northwest, our "sunshine" (if it's a good day), or "form of light behind thick clouds" for a normal day, begins disappear around 4 pm this time of year.

A few days ago I found myself sitting close to the Christmas tree about that time of day wondering if the glow from lights on the tree would count for any amount of my much needed sunlight.  Man, that's when I really knew I had reached a whole new level of desperation!

It was literally right then that my gift-bearing husband walked through the door.  As if he had read my daydreams at that moment, he handed me a gift.

Not just any gift, but quite possibly one of the greatest inventions of our time!

To my sheer delight it was the Happy Light 4500!!!  :)

Although I had to laugh really hard at the cheesy people posing on the box, after 20 minutes in front of it, I too felt just like them!!!  I could not wipe the smile off my face!  (And the fact that the name includes 4500 is hilarious in itself!)

Feeling spunky again means A LOT for me right now since I have been really low lately.  My spirits have been hard to lift -- at best.

My father-in-law stopped by our house last night and commented that I seemed to be doing really well.  (I have to admit that I was a little embarrassed to reveal to him the secret to the extra hop in my step since it does seem funny to be given the gift of happiness from a little lamp...but I did end up telling him.)

He and I had a good belly laugh over the concept of it (and the picture of the silly people on the box), but after remaining in it's captivating glow, he too could not help but beam too!  :)  Seriously!

So, if you live in the area and would like to join me in my new "happy hour" next to my favorite light in our house, please feel free to join me!  And you too can look like the people on this box!

That's hysterical. Sounds like I could use a happy light too. I was just walking through the house depressed that it was so dark inside!

Too funny JA. I actually thought of suggesting that when you were lamenting the summer sunshine a while back. Glad it works.

Seriously, I love it! Where do you get one of those? They are probably available on every street corner out there!

That's awesome!

Do you just leave it on during the evening? I wanna look as happy as that!

The last 2 nights I have been using it in the kitchen (who doesn't need a mood lifter while cooking and cleaning?!) and today since it was so dark at 3 I turned it on this afternoon by my computer.

Is it like a mini tanning lamp, too? If so, who need the sun anymore!
