This past weekend we worked hard to clean, organize and prepare for our 2 Christmas parties we are hosting this week.
Monday morning, I took one look at our extra-clean downstairs and another look at my 2 active little boys, and then quickly called a good neighbor friend to see if we might be able to hang out for a (long) while at their house to help keep ours in a little more order.
Sure enough, she and her husband were working on getting out the door with their 2 kids, but invited us to join them on their adventure into downtown. I use the word "adventure" since I would normally much rather brave a unexplored mountain road than find my way around the busy streets of downtown -- especially the week of Christmas! I did hesitate and tried to wish them well on their way, but she knew that I needed this adventure (as well as the boys) and would not take no for an answer.
I am SO glad she didn't! We rushed and were ready and out the door in record time. We even got to break in our new mini-van and fill it full to capacity with 7 of us, strollers, diaper bags, winter coats, etc.
It was a fun way to catch the Christmas spirit ( and all the while the house was staying clean!)!
My sweet husband even came and joined us during his lunch break!

That picture of the 4 of you is adorable. Going downtown always feels like a hassle, to me, but always seems worth it in the end. Merry Christmas!
