Take 2 -- In With the Old, Out With the New

Remember this $6,000 Christmas tree?

It became apparent to us that our lovely (costly) Christmas tree was lacking in the area of water when branches began snapping off as we gently bumped them on our way past it today.  That's not so good.

(I guess in the midst of all the things we're dealing with we forgot to water our tree.)

We are still 2 weeks from Christmas and we now have a brittle tree/fire hazard sitting in our living room. We're a bit concerned about that part.  So, plan B.

You'd never really know from these pictures that we're actually taking DOWN the lights and ornaments on our newly acquired "fresh" Christmas tree.

Thankfully, when we lived in Georgia, we bought a artificial tree (even pre-lit!).

Just like that!

So, trying to roll with the punches, out with the new and in with the old!

Although it was hard to take everything all down and throw away our beautiful (and nice smelling) tree, it worked out ok.

The finished product:

And, as we were re-doing all the ornaments, snow began to softly tumble outside the window...

It was so beautiful and peaceful.
