New Blue

Our originally tan carpet now has a splash of robin's egg blue color across the master bedroom floor. This new color is the result of our 2 year old's stomach bug. He's been getting sick to his stomach all day and in different parts of the house. He's nailed (with impeccable aim) our leather couch in the family room, his bed, his bathroom, the master bedroom and our bathroom. Oh, and all over me one time.

Why robin's egg blue? Because in an effort to try to keep him hydrated I gave him a blue popsicle thinking it would stay down -- not so much.

As I type, I get powerful whiffs of the extra special new odor that's now seems like a permanent part of our carpet. Even though I did scrub for 10 minutes, I am sensing that a second round is called for here.

This is day 3 with the stomach bug at our house. Our baby had it Tuesday and Wednesday and kindly passed it onto his brother. If the bug keeps up on the pace, it's going to hit me tomorrow. But I am not even going to think about that one right now.

Our usually very active 2 year old just wanted to be held today as I cleaned up the kitchen and walked throughout the house. He sweetly fell asleep in my arms early this afternoon (this did not even happen when he was a baby) so I put him down in bed an hour early for nap time, where he is right now. Poor guy. I pray that the sleep helps heal his upset tummy. I really do appreciate the break from cleaning up the messes for the moment.

To add to the "blue day", a few hours ago my husband called letting me know of some very bad news.

I am weary but I do know that God can sustain me.

"Have mercy on me, O Lord, for I call to you all day long. Bring joy to your servant, for you oh Lord, I lift up my soul." ~Psalm 86:3

That is terrible! I have a secret for removing vomit odor for you. Pick up some "natures miracle" from the pet aisle in the grocery store, or pet mart. (you may already have some as you have a dog) It totally takes away the vomit smell. We don't have a dog, but we keep a gallon of this stuff handy for just these incidents! It doesn't harm your carpet, furniture. great stuff!!!
