Sunbursts

A sunburst many times will grace itself in the sky when it is least expected and seems even brighter than normal sunlight when contrasted against the darker sky surrounding the brilliant rays of light. These bursts of sun warm my soul and brighten my heart. This morning we witnessed such a sight streaming through our windows.

This started me thinking of ways I could create sunbursts in my day to day life here at home. Funny enough, our laundry room came to my mind since I seem to live in this room some days. Since I can't change the amount of laundry needing to be washed, dried, and folded, perhaps I could make that room brighter and more cheerful helping me enjoy this work a little more, just as sunbeams lift my spirits on an otherwise dark day.

For this project, the sky's the limit! I once read an article where a woman put a beautiful chandelier in her laundry room to bring more elegance to the mundane.

Along with enhancing our laundry room, I took it a step further and also thought about how I really want to provide that sunburst in the lives of people I know and love, as well as strangers who I meet on my journey. Knowing that a simple smile can go miles, I think I'll start with that and go from there. :)


** Side Note: Amazingly, as I was finishing this blog a sunburst broke through the clouds...although this picture is not very good, it gets the point across.
