Fun Flurry of Summer Days

It's been simply wonderful to escape the day to day "normal" life since last Thursday when my dad and step-mom arrived for a special visit! Each day was jam packed with adventures and outings thus allowing for very little down time, but we made it work great!

They are now on their way home but we are left with many incredible memories from the great time spent with them. Among the adventures were: hiking, walking, playing in the backyard, a 4th of July party with family and friends, a ferry ride, a trip to a waterfall, a fireworks show, a visit to a national park, and a safari trip to a wild life preserve where we saw everything from mountain lions to moose (and just about everything in between!)!

Here are a few of the highlights in pictures:

Glad you liked the pics! Jen, you are so right, we do treasure our happy family and know that it is a gift from the Lord! It is so rare these days...we cherish this special gift!

Ali, I wish you could have seen me all the way up the hike...I carried our 30 pound "baby" in the backpack for much of it then passed him on to Daddy there in the snow field. Thus, the VERY hot me in the short sleeves.

My dad was dying to carry our baby but Peppin would have nothing to do with it! :)
