I LOVE hearing the word "vacation"! Every time it is used when applied to our life I really, really LOVE that word! Like a cool breath of fresh air on a hot summer day, just speaking the word allows me to take a deep sigh. Even my shoulders immediately relax.
As of tonight (not sure when, but I am promised it will be before midnight), when my sweet husband comes home from work, he will be on vacation for a week!!! What a beautiful thing!
We were planning on a road trip to go see my family, but with the unbelievable rise in gas prices, we have switched to a different location...HOME! We've never done this before, (taking a week off and going no where but here), but I think it will be great fun none the less!
After MUCH traveling for work this past winter and spring and many late nights, my husband will finally have a much deserved break!
I am realistically planning on days without as much down-time since we'll be doing many projects around the house, and staying busy with day trips, etc.
One thing I really love about my sweetheart is that he is an achiever. He MUST accomplish at least one major task every day or the day is not seen as "successful". Whatever floats his boat (and gets things done around here) works with me!
I plan to post pictures of our daily adventures, for I am sure that this is indeed what we will have!
Here's to a great family vacation...at home!

We do that all the time. Jer gets 5 weeks of paid vacation a year and there is no way we will actually go somewhere every time, so we often spend 3 out of the 5 hanging out at home. The boys love dad being around (after he works so hard and is gone like he is) and I love having him around to help with the routine.
